This was begun in a day’s workshop with the artist David Pasfield. He got us to use the palette knife as ‘the brush’ which was something I don’t tend to do that often! A very enjoyable time, then I came back to it later and re- worked it adding the figure.

This is based upon a vision I had where the Lord called for His worshippers to stand in the gap of a wall. This became the most secure area as His eye was transfixed upon those who wholeheartedly worshipped Him. Their gaze was upon Him- He protected their backs.

“Arise with Thanksgiving”

I began this painting in a prophetic art workshop with the Christian Artist Elizabeth Londen.
I felt Holy Spirit guided me to the word ‘Arise’ then went on a deep dive into the Bible and dictionary exploring ideas for images.
Key verses that I thought about and dwelt on were;
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”

“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,”
~ Isaiah 40 v31

At this time we are called to arise with thanksgiving for all the wonderful things that He has done for us to restore us to His family. So let us arise- be the light- shine His light in the darkness, on wings of eagles, with gratitude in our hearts raising the sword of truth.
